Hard to Swallow

Good evening and welcome,
You’ve come to dine
At the delectable, incredible
Your Word Against Mine.

May I suggest,
As a palate cleanser,
A spread of lawyer’s letters
Gone without an answer.

Then for our first course,
A tangy borsh
Of shouting online
Till both are hoarse.

Followed swiftly by
A degustation
Of rage, impeccably staged,
For adulation.

To accompany the meal
Might I suggest this wine.
The grapes were sour
Growing on the vine.

Just before I go
And leave you to your knives,
(I’d give a fork,
But you’ve already got wives)

We’ve completely run out,
I so regret to say,
Of just desserts,
But there’s still hell to pay.

It’s interesting how revenge has always been associated with food.
