The Answer

Would you come and follow me
if I but call your name?
I don’t know, what if I go
and never be the same?
Would you let your love be shown?
But your name is yet unknown.
Would you let my life be grown?
I don’t know, wait and see.

Would you leave yourself behind
if I but call your name?
But what if I never find
myself ever again?
Would you risk the hostile stare?
I don’t know if I should care.
Would you let me answer prayer?
Does it have to be me?

Will you let the blinded see
if I but call your name?
I don’t know if I’ll be free
Tonight there’s on a big game.
Will you kiss the leper clean?
*on Whatsapp remain unseen*
How can you be so mean?
#lookingoutforme.

I still love the “you” you hide
when I but call your name.
You have no idea inside
how I’ve already been maimed.
Will you use the faith you’ve found?
I’ll see you someday around.
Out of sight and touch and sound?
Yes there is where I’ll be.

Oh Lord it all falls through
when you but call my name.
May you turn and follow me
and never be the same.
Though you know I’ll never go
where Your love and footsteps show.
Still I’ll search all high and low
wherever you may be.
