Poetry, Politics

Most words can be flipped
to their opposite
by adding/subtracting “in” or “un”.
Indecision? Untimely.
Inhumane? Unlikely.
Most words except indifference.
Excluding the “in” only creates difference.

Indifference craves something stronger
than quick fix suffixes, something longer
a proper noun, perhaps found
in Holocaust, Apartheid and Pol Pot,
or outrage instagrammed online
hashtags kidsinrags dozen dime

or maybe there’s a word
yet unborn,
from a tongue (screaming lung)
yet untorn.
